Bio

Jason specializes in complex commercial and real estate litigation on behalf of small businesses, investors, underwriters, title companies, appraisers, real estate brokers and agents, homeowners and consumers throughout Texas and Minnesota. With more than 14-years of experience (including over forty bench trials and thirty jury trials), Jason’s diversified experience has been key to his ability to come up with novel theories when handling complex litigation issues and to develop creative solutions to resolve difficult business problems. Jason also shares a passion in helping homeowners fight against unscrupulous bank practices. Since the 2008 financial crisis, Jason has helped thousands of families avoid foreclosure and achieve financial freedom through proven legal strategies. He is a leading authority in the industry and considered by his peers to be an experienced resource. Jason has spent thousands of hours negotiating with the toughest lenders to keep families in their homes.

Jason spends most of his spare time hiking the outdoors, cooking, drinking a good single malt from time to time and volunteering with animal welfare organizations.

Representative Experience

  • Counsel to consumers and businesses concerning partitions, quiet title actions, mortgage and foreclosure defense, easement and encroachment disputes, evictions, adverse possession, property owner association disputes, fraud in real estate, contract disputes, deceptive trade practices violations and other real estate related matters;
  • Navigated thousands of Texas and Minnesota homeowners through the loss mitigation process of foreclosure such as loan modifications, short sales, deeds in lieu, custom work-outs and reinstatements for conventional, home equity and reverse mortgage loans;
  • Counsel to large real estate brokerages in connection with fiduciary issues and regulatory compliance;
  • Counsel to small and large real estate brokerages in non-disclosure litigation;
  • Counsel to title companies, surveyors, appraisers and other real estate professionals relating to professional negligence litigation defense;
  • Counsel to small real estate investors relating to seller finance deals, executory contracts, servicing debt and debt-related litigation; and
  • Counsel to commercial real estate owners in connection with litigation arising out of the sale of property.
