ABDM Attorneys Recognized for 2016 High Jury Verdicts

Almanza, Blackburn, Dickie & Mitchell LLP Associate Attorney E. Jason Billick was recently recognized nationally for obtaining one of the highest jury verdicts in Texas last year in connection with a personal injury case tried in February of 2016. Mr. Billick’s team, accompanied by former mentor Mr. William Gammon, represented an Austin-area cyclist injured by a motorist using his cellular device while driving. The jury returned an $865,000.00 verdict marking it the 65th highest jury verdict in the United States in 2016. The case received local news coverage:

Jacob Scheick became ABDM’s newest partner on January 1st, 2017.







Separately last year, Bo Blackburn and Jacob Scheick represented six Lieutenants in the Travis County Sheriff’s Office in a jury trial for unpaid overtime, and received a favorable verdict that made the top 100 verdicts in Texas!

On January 1st, Jacob Scheick joined Julie Lane and Noel Stout as non-name partners of ABDM. Since making his start with us five years ago, he has created tremendous value for his clients and our firm. ABDM Offers TREC Licensed Continuing Education (CE) Courses

Starting in Fall 2016, ABDM began offering CE courses designed to equip realtors with the legal knowledge to protect themselves and those they represent in real estate transactions. Our instructors have had many years of hands-on experience and are excited to bring these TREC Approved CE Classes to your brokerage or title office!

We are currently offering two courses:

Course # 30671 – Anatomy of a Lawsuit

Offers an overview of the nuts and bolts of a lawsuit brought by a disgruntled residential buyer, including practical tips for agents and brokers on how to reduce their chance of involvement in such a suit.

Course # 30657 – Sellers Disclosure

Offers advice on how to manage the perils and pitfalls of the Seller’s Disclosure form, from both the seller’s agents and the buyer’s agents perspective.
